“Learning to fly an airplane taught me a way of thinking, an approach to problem-solving that was applicable and effective. Pilots are very methodical and meticulous, and artists tend not to be.” Chris Carter
When renting an airplane, it’s essential to know your options.
At Santa Monica Flyers, we know that sometimes the best way to see a new city is from the air. That’s why we offer a wide range of aircraft rentals to meet all your flying needs!
We got you whether you’re looking for a Cirrus, Cessna, SportCruiser, or Super Decathlon! With our fleet of airplanes and our experienced instructor pilots, you can’t go wrong.
Ready for Takeoff?
Santa Monica Flyers offers rentals for planes of all types. We have a fleet of Cirrus, Cessna, and SportCruisers available for you to use.
We know how important it is to feel safe when flying. So, we make sure that all our instructors are screened for their knowledge and pass a 4-phase interview process before being polished up for the job after hiring.
The Cirrus SR20 has some pretty impressive features. It has a glass cockpit with synthetic vision and an autopilot system, so if you want to take it easy and let the plane do the work for you, it can do that—or if you’d prefer manual flight instead of using autopilot, that’s possible too! You’ll also have access to an air conditioning system and GPS navigation.

In order to serve your rental needs and ensure your safety and the highest quality assurance possible, Santa Monica Flyers maintains a number of important rental policies.
Among these policies are a need for all renters to receive checkouts in the aircraft they fly, take several short written exams and adhere to currency requirements. Per company, insurance and regulatory requirements, we also collect your personal information and copies of your ID and other documents.
Aviation non-owner insurance is required for all students and renters prior to flying solo or renting with Santa Monica Flyers. When obtaining insurance make sure to choose coverage that meets or exceeds Santa Monica Flyer’s minimum coverage: all renters must carry bodily injury/property damage liability coverage, but the amount of hull coverage will vary with the aircraft rented.
A copy of your approved policy must be sent to reception@santamonicaflyers.com before rental or solo flight may occur.
Insurance may be acquired through any insurance provider as long as the below minimum coverage requirements are met. When filling out either application, make sure to choose plans that meet the minimums. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
